Tangram

Seven pieces, endless shapes. Geometry you can play.

Game by the developer via GameDistribution. Pressing Play loads it from the provider's servers.

About Tangram

A tangram is a dissection puzzle made of seven flat pieces called tans: five triangles, a square and a parallelogram. The goal is to fill an outline using all seven pieces without any overlaps. This online version has levels from beginner to expert, so younger and older students can both play.

How to play Tangram

  1. Drag and drop the pieces into the outline.
  2. Use all seven pieces and don't let them overlap.
  3. Pick a level: beginner, easy, medium, hard or expert.

Using Tangram in the classroom

  • Geometry warm-up: count the triangles and compare their sizes before you start.
  • Pair work: one student moves the pieces, the other gives directions.
  • Follow up with paper tangrams so students can build their own shapes.

Tangram is made by an independent developer and delivered by GameDistribution. Nothing loads from them until someone presses Play. Their player may show a short ad and uses its own cookies; see our privacy page.
